^^ You could just tent it!

Now, does all this span from that hole where you red lined the rpm? (or very high based on sound) as that's what did it for the power steering pump. One thing I have witnessed (yours included) is that GM engines do not like the high rpms... I had a lumina sport once and I was playing around racing one day.... it was never the same again... eventually scrapped it..

I never really put 2 and 2 together until now.... but still may be coincidence... (Never been a GM fan.... but I LOVE my Hummer!)

Did the tech ever give you any explanation as a seasoned mechanic can usually tell things by how they break, and where etc etc...

Well that was likely behind the power steering pump failure... but the rest of it makes no sense and they didn't really an offer a reason why almost the entire driveline was failing. He said that maybe if water had gotten into the transfer case it caused some issues with the chain, but it seems more likely there was some serious quality issues with some of the parts.

The plan is to drive it for a few weeks and see if any more issues come out of the wood work.

i dont have a full size spare! havent locatid one yet or really even looked. is that going to be a major problem?

Nah - I'll loan mine if it comes to that... (Oh - but I'm 37's...) I have a stock spare tire for sale if you are interested... need a rim (I also have 4 rims for sale with 37's but I wanna keep that set together..) Of course I just noticed you are in an H1...

You will want to get one in the future though as Hummer don't operate well on a smaller spare... can damage parts actually from what I hear... so you want a same size spare as your regular rubber...

It's looking like I'm going to be missing out on the camping side of things. My trailer took a broadside of 2"+ hail yesterday and is going to need a little TLC before it's road worthy again. Already this morning there's a run on replacement windows <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Could be worse though, the truck is still good to go so I'll be coming down for the day at least. So I'm at least 1 for 9am across from Tim's.

Dammit with the hail, man! That's too bad about the trailer, but sure glad the truck is still GTG. Glad you'll be able to make it out to run on Saturday though----we'll see ya out there!

Sorry to hear my friend... but you just sent a chill down my spine as I haven't looked at mine yet as it's in a storage lot - picking it up tomorrow to start loading it and will hope for the best!

My Truck's all set for the run!
