Will do, but I'll wait until the body is back on and take a new pic to post with the old pic. I have put my hood back on for a test fit and I'll tell ya that 4 inch body lift is a lot. The 37" tires almost look small.

its cool to own a hummer i find it even more interesting when its original and personally modified and customized

i was nervous when i first purchased mine last year now that ive had it to the frame im not afraid of any repair now

OK, a lot of work happened today. It all went smooth other than having to cut the first inch of the outter lip of the dog house connection plate. The thing fits like a glove.

Another issue with a motor swap is insurance... Hameee or heavyde did you guys tell your insurance about the swap if so what was the premium hike like?



This is one of the reasons slowing my down from doing the swap(as well as cash). But I am worried insurance might not like the swap and might be hard to insure.

Well, here the insurance company doesn't need to know. I'm only swapping a 8 cylinder diesel for another 8 cylinder diesel. Sure, there's more power but that's no different then adding a turbo or supercharger to a n/a.



The only thing different that I'll do is get it appraised and give that to the insurance company, but I don't know who can properly appraise this machine to begin with. Either way the insurance costs will never overcome the amount saved in fuel. This swap will almost double my mpg.

Yeah I was thinking about what they wont know wont hurt them, but after several posts on a local Jeep forum I kind of got worried that it might be a fight to get them to pay out on a large payout if something like a swap was not mentioned.

Although the good thing is our trucks are so rare that most insurance guys wont know just by looking at the truck what has been changed from stock or not(Obviously a cummins or dmax swap might be noticable but lift kits not so much).
