Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
I nearly bought one... probably would have been the smart way to do this; but I like to give myself a hard time for no good reason, just to make it interesting.
New tires arrived today for the car:
Dunlop Direzza ZII

Sport Edition Rims, only weigh 12.4lbs

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
Just wrapped up the installation of the rear springs, shocks, wheel bearings and brakes today. Just put in un-cracked/un-tinted tail lights, head lamps yesterday.
Still waiting on a couple of seals for the front wheels and a slide hammer to take apart a centre bearing. Might be a week or two getting the front all done the same way.
After that I have to clean up and fix the inside of the car, currently it is stripped. Then get it to an exhaust shop somehow to get a new front pipe and muffler on it.
A lot of little stuff in between all of that too. Realistically it probably won't be on the road until mid July.

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
Miata??? I was racing one at Button Willow on the weekend. We were in a 24 hour race that went well until about hour number 5. Head gasket failed.
This created super heated steam that eroded a good part of the exhaust valves away, including part of the actual heads.
Miata's are excecllent cars - but they're not 100% trouble free. Almost 100%, but not quite.
Nick, you do know that I run a track goup? We only let folks in that have some type of performance driving experience beyond scaring the crap out of a girlfriend. Let me know if you're interested - we have room in the group this year (which is rare).

That sounds wicked, I'd actually love to join... although I don't think my i-Mark is much good for anything other than autocross
However I was thinking about picking up a new Corvette maybe next year, also if that BMW M2 comes out I will by buying it.... still to this day I regret not getting the 1M coupe.
