Guys I may not be able to make it... the dealer has given me some bad news. I received a free 15 point inspection with my oil change, this inspection is designed to find any serious problems I may have; it is with great sadness I tell you, that I Apparently suffer.... from a weak horn.

That my solve all your problems!!!!! They sound like SHAW!!!

Anyways..... just waiting for Bowness auto to phone with my parts, gunna finish my coffee and then start taking things apart so I'm ready.... sounds like the noise may be from the bushings so going to get a good lubricant and grease them up after I get everything apart!

Man.... U need aftermarket parts... BOWNESS AUTO!! Calipres: $65 (with trade in of course) those thermo break pads: $95, new rotors: $55 each!! Holy Crap! I'm really finding aftermarket parts for the Hummers are very very reasonable.... just do it yourself as that's where you get raped... on the install!!!

Parts and install from the dealer are never worth it, I usually just put a call into somewhere like Parts Unlimited and pick up OEM clones... which are usually better quality. I did the tie rods on my moms car not that long ago... the OEM clones were 30% of the cost and unlike OEM they were actually greasable. You could tell just by looking at them in comparison to the OEM ones they were way stronger, better built and would last a lot longer because they were serviceable.

Oh man, I honked at somebody today who pulled into my lane doing 25km under the speed limit... it's true, my horn is now totally gay.

I just laughed my friggin @ss off!!! You gotta do something about that man as a Hummer can't have a "Gay" horn!!! And don't try and call it Meta sexual or anything like that! You need to re-manify your horn!

If you still have a gay horn on the 11th....you're bringing up the rear!!! Hey..... maybe we should get you a pink grill!!!!!

So I'm all done me Humma! Took me only 2 hours to do a complete rebuild of the braking system! What a difference now with how she feels! Those calipres were shot due to the mud holes as shit was still falling out of them! Both pistons on each side were plugged and seizing causing both rotors to be heat scored.... man she is nice and smooth now.

Lubricated the bushings as they were quite dry, so gunna let it work in for a few days and then apply a second coat...

She's as good as new now!!!! Love it!!! And I DID IT MYSELF! shaw gmc can kiss my hairy white butt!!!

Booyaaahhh!!!!

Only 2 hours to rebuild your braking system... I am impressed, you are a superstar Dave!

I spent all day installing a Snorkel, suggested install time is 120 minutes... 5 hours later it was installed!

My car has an ultra-gay horn too, I stopped using it and just rev the engine when I need to express my anger or warn somebody of an impeding collision. I will just start doing that with the truck for now too, thank god for manuals!

Hey Karl,

What ever happened with the truck? What was the damage and did the cover it ok under the warranty?

Well i took to my usual shop and they were not helpful. They always have to wait for the warranty adjuster t oocme over and inspect it before approval is give if the fix is over $1500. Well when he arrived and took some photos, he then told the Warranty company he believed it to be externally (or driver) damaged. Riiiiiiight. So because there's some scratches on the skid plate, that means a large boulder or something snuck in there and smashed a giant hole in the diff. Yah.

So they said no to warranty coverage, which of course I was not about to accept. And not only that, but the original shop told the warranty company when they were asked for their opinion, that they didn't want to 'get involved' - Unreal!

I took it for a second opinion.

The shop I then took it to...and he one that will ALWAYS get my work now, is called Offroad Canada here in Lethbridge. He took a look and immediately said 'No way this is external damage.' He did a little research while he was looking for a diff for me and found out this is a common problem! 3 of the places he called told him they'd seen this before more than once!

So on Tuesday I will order a diff he finally found for me in Grand Prairie, and by weeks end it should be installed. In the meantime he told me he will go to bat for me with the Warranty company and we both believe I will win.

As you can see by the pic below, this was 'Catastrophic failure' of this unit. Crazy crazy sh*t.
