Not a Ford! I've heard they were great fun, but my ex had a Fiesta and unless you can keep it inside 24/7 in the winter be prepared for it to freeze up after every snowfall.

Can't be any worse than my Hummer, haha.
The ST is a totally different animal than the regular Fiesta, they are almost not comparable.
The stock Fiesta has 120hp and 112ft-lbs of torque, the ST has 197hp and 202 ft-lbs of torque. Unlike the regular one It also has factory Recaro seats, a totally different steering box, totally reworked suspension, and big disc brakes all around.
This is a pretty good review; they compare it to an M3!

I sat in a Fiesta ST and I've seen them run around town, definitely a different animal mechanically to the econobox models but they share their climate controls with them. If you get any amount of snow, the intake vents it drips inside the blower box and freezes the blower fan and the vent guides. We spent nearly $4000 between the two of us replacing these parts in the first winter, the year before last. Each time we brought it in there were 4-5 other Fiesta's (all model options S to SES/ST) kicking around in the dealer bay, it got to a point that since we didn't have a heated garage we'd just leave the car at Ford inside over the weekends to sit parked and thaw out over the weekend so she could get to work during the week. If it got to 25 below or colder, it was a 50/50 chance to start if plugged in, if not we'd just call for a tow to take it to Ford because we knew the damn thing wouldn't start and even if it did, the windows wouldn't defrost to be safe enough to drive. Needless to say after we broke up, a week later she traded the damn thing in on a Ram 1500, women *shrugs*
I don't imagine an ST would be used as a daily driver in the winter given your current garage, but as a heads up, if you do drive it in the winter, put a blanket over the intake vents below the windshield and plug it in whenever possible, especially if you park it outside at work or the mall, hell we even took 45 minutes when it was -35 with a -40 windchill to grab groceries and it wouldn't start after two hours of driving. Just a poor design on Ford's part for the climate control systems.

Thanks for the heads up, I know the Fiesta's have some quality issues... although most of the ones I've heard centre around the slush box.
This one will be going on jacks during the winter month, it is going to be mostly a summer toy.

The YouTube channel called "The Smoking Tire" has a series on the Ford focus ST. They are going through the stage 1 and 2 mods right now with dyno pulls and road test. I would check it out. Might give you some bad ideas.

Don't get me started on the slushbox, trying to make a manual gearbox an auto was poor idea, but I'm not an engineer.
I assumed it would be a track car. I liked the ST, I wish Ford would've grown a pair and made it AWD. I'm still holding out for either an older Evo IX, or I'll cave and get another Skyline sedan.

Ford is having issues with their turbo's now as well... Another heads up..
My sister-in-law is on her second one on her escape and overheard when in the service that there are several other vehicles in for the same reason from the escape to the f-150... So i think they pumped them out before adequate testing...
Anyone in for a falls run this saturday?
I did some trails around porcupine hills in sw alberta this last weekend and the jeep did awesome... Miss my Humma crew...

Should come down to the Crowsnest pass area sometime, lots of trails down there that we have been exploring.
