Hello,
I am happy to have been told about this club, so thanks go out to Derek for doing so ! I am the proud owner of a 1995 H1 Wagon, its white and one of the rare gas models. My greatest hope is that I will be able to attend one of the events before I have to say goodbye to my truck, as unfortunately I am in a position to have to sell it . I am sure that now that I have found this site I will be spending alot of time on this site for as long as I still am an owner, and if allowed probably after too!

Colin, welcome aboard. I see you may be selling your H1. You you put an ad in the for sell area with detail of interior and any mods put on the truck. And of coarse, a price for this unit. There are a few of us looking for H1's
PS: Whats the fuel mileage like on a gaser??

Thanks for the welcome guys !
I am saddly, short of ever going on an armada, all to famiiliar with most, if not all of, the reasons why not to sell, I love these trucks (H1's), and have even come to like the new gens (H2-3's), despite not liking them at first, mostly becuase of what they did to the average perception and actual resale value of the originals. I did not buy this truck to try and make money off of it, nor did I have any illusions about the depreciation over the years, I sort of envisionned still driving my then "antique" collectors edition H1, well into my later years, and if I ever have children or grandchildren, willing it down to them, and if not, well obviuosly, being burried in it! In hindsight I now see how nieve I was, despite, at the time, feeling like I had done substancial research on the vehical, and have learned the hard way, just how exteamely expensive they are to maintain, especially if you are not able to do most of the work yourself, or are not great friends with a mechanic!
I belive that these trucks deserve to be used, and bought mine to do just so, but as of yet never fully experienced any true offroading, so I guess I am not really deserving of claiming to be a proud owner, in fact, I am quite ashamed and guilty for having in 7 years, never having made any extended excusions into the back country, and only putting on less than 10,000 KM about 4,000 of those, driving out here from Calgary! So what I have come to learn is that I could afford to buy one, but not to use it, and my new addopted saying derived from this experience is that " It is no fun having a toy that you can not afford to play with, it is in fact worse than not having the toy at all ! " Having payed almost $60,000 and over the years put in another $20,000, at least (not counting gas!), to sell in the neighborhood of $30,000 , will be bitter sweet to say the least, not because of the money, but becuase I have not done the things, gone to the places , or experienced the true great abilities that I know these trucks have, for this I accept all the responcability, and actually feel worse for my truck than I do for me, like I said they deserve to be used! And if I can help it I will start making my way to these events and maybe if I can gain the benifit of being part of one of these gatherings, help pull someone out, get stuck, get pulled out myself, I may be able to rekindle the desire to do whatever it takes to hold onto this amazing machine, which I have been strugling to do for most of the time I have had it!
As to ROYS question, there are many factors obviously, but when it comes down to it , on average, all things considered, imagine a slot on the dash, like on the kids rides at the mall, and every one KM drop a quarter in there !
HUMMER-LIKE NOTHING ELSE !
