NEED HELP/H2 PROBLEM

Post by brianwidahl »

Hey

I drive  a 2003 H2.And for the past couple of weeks i've been having a really weird problem.I hope someone can point me a the right direction to getting this fixed.

So my problem is.It seems to be all the power is going to the front tires. The tires spin really easy even on pavement.Even going 100kms hr. I'm starting to get really concerned because not only have my  front tires gone bald i literally have no steering when the tires spin.If any one can help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Brian

That doesn't sound promissing...  Does running in 4-Hi locked send any power to the back end? If it does then the problem must be in the transfercase.  If still no then it could be the T-case or the rear end.

You can do a real basic check of the rear end by checking to see if the shaft and wheels still turn together.  Block the front tires and pick the back end off the ground.  Set the t-case in neutral by holding both the 4-Hi Un-Locked and 4-Low buttons in for 10 seconds.  You can then turn the rear wheels by hand and watch to see if the drive shaft turns with them.

even if you turn by hand the other wheel would turn opposite of the direction of wheel turned by hand drive shaft wouldnt turn because of transmission

That's true if you only have the transmission in neutral.  With the transfer case in neutral the drive shafts are free to spin with their respective diff's.

if you do a lot of wheeling.. you will notice your idler arm and pitman don;t last as long.. at least mine haven't, changed them twice already.. on my third set as wel watch the steering shock. it will be next to go.
