I have the same problem with my H1...goggled it and it seems to be a common problem after some deep 4x4ing. Usually caused by the ABS sensor not picking up the ring tone from the shaft and neeeds to be cleaned and simply taped back into postion..use a business card as a spacer

After being in water today I am experiencing the same problem. After starting the truck I get about a mile down the road and the warning lights come on. Also, while the warning lights are on, truck will not shift into 4 lock high or low. If I shut down and restart the truck, transfer case shifts just fine until the warning lights come back on however if I was already in 4 lock it does seem to stay engaged. What should I do about this? And we're only 10 days before we leave for AM General!Image

When my Drivers Information Centre said "Service 4WD" and it wouldn't shift to lock or lock, I checked the wiring going into the rear diff and found that the connector had come loose. I took it apart, cleaned it up and connected it again. I also wrapped the connector with duct tape so that it wouldn't accidentally come loose. That resolved my issue.

If it isn't something simple like this, then take it to a GM Dealership and have them diagnose the trouble codes. It is likely a bad wire or faulty sensor that they will be able to pin point with they fancy-smancy computers.

There is no "service 4wd' warning light that comes on, only ABS and TC warnings. I'll take it in to the shop though, def. gotta be a sensor or wire issue.
