33's or 35's

Post by hammer »

Hi guy's and gal's.

Need some help if you don't mind. I've been beating myself in the head as to what to get, 33's or 35's.

i've been skoping all pic's and they're awesome, however they are all flexed and pumped and crawling through mud.

What i would really like to see are your driveway poser pic's. with a profile of your rides with the tires not stuff in the fenders. Concidering this is my daily driver i'm not sure if 35's would be over bearing on my h3, but looking at the 33's they don't seem much bigger then the 32's it came with. i would like the beefed up look while retaining a touch of class.

Thanks

Let's try this again......

Hey Ham,

  Trust me...go with the 35's!

Base H3 has 32's, H3 Adventures comes with 33's. if you do want to go off road any any point in time in the future - you want the biggest tires possible that won't compromise your rig so the body is the highest off the ground. a 4X4 is only as good as it's lowest point (differential)

If you have the 5 cyl. - 35's is pushing it a bit...but they still work fine.  If you have the Alpha.... 35's are a must!!

If you go to the photobucket - you can see my H3 Alpha in my garage. I still don't know how to post a picture into a post....

35's are easy enough to fit on, just tweak the torsion keys a bit for an inch or so of extra lift in the front. The rear is fine, as Dave was mentioning if you have an auto-5cyl you might find yourself a little short on power, but for myself I have the manual-5 speed and it has more than enough power to push bigger tires.

This is mine with OEM 33's

Thanks for the response guys. I understand that 35s would fit if i leveled the front and i prefer a more level stance. i just want a proportional look. Do the 35s look too big for the H3. I haven't done much wheeling being this is my first REAL 4x4. This vehicle is my daily driver and it will see more paved then unpaved roads.

However i look forward to being introduced to the offroad culture and I'm looking forward to a local events in the Essex county or southwestern Ontario area. Wish there was someone in my area that has 35s mounted on their H3 so i can see it up close and personal.

Thanks for the info and keep those pics coming

Keep looking - eventually you will find one!

35's do not look too big at all.... in my opinion - 33's look too small. You can actually mount 37's but they put additional strain on the front end components. There has been debate on that in a previous sting and what I basically found out (more from experience which I prefer...) is that 37's are fine on a 2008 or newer truck as they re-enforced the front end (the Alpha's even more so in order to handle the increase in power and torque), but I wouldn't on older ones (but again I do know someone who has and has had no problems what so ever and goes off roading to..)

So in the end.... I think the 35's gives the truck a balanced look. You can lift the front end only with new torsion bar keys (i reccomend ready lift) which is what I did and they are awesome. You don't need to buy an expensive lift kits.

You will love your "New Truck" in the end!
