Transfer case
I'm going to Baltimore to pick up my 94 H1 next week.I will be driving back to Montreal with it.The owner advised me not to drive her over 55mph for long periods because the transfer will overheat.Should I be worried there is a problem with it or is this normal for a 94?

Re: Transfer case
I have heard that the vampire cooler was a real issue in eariler trucks the port would become blocked with some contaminates the cooler would stop flowing properly and the t-case would self destruct from the heat. If it is an original t-case I would be aware and take it easy not push to hard. I have blow 2 t-cases from serious wheeling if you do blow it I know where you can get a reman .Correct me if I'am wrong

Re: Transfer case
Ask if the previous owner has any service documents. If so see how old the oil in the t-case is. It might be worth switching to synthetic before you drive her home.

It would be wise to switch all the oils before you do traveling anyway

Re: Transfer case
He is supposed give me all maintenance records. It will be sitting near Baltimore for a few weeks at my brothers place.I'll have him check for fluid changes and have him do the necessary ones.Wierd feeling owning a hummer and having to wait a month before I can drive it. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Enjoy the wait, it will make it that much better once it is in your drivway! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
