I'm considering a H2

Post by Yellow »

Hi there.

Great site and community for Hummer owners.

I'm considering buying a 2006 H2 with 119,000 kms.  The Canadian dealer purchased it directly from Arizona. Just looking for any suggestions or guidance that I should look out for.  Give me the good and bad.

Can I somehow get it checked out before buying

Do you think this is high mileage

Appreciate any feedback.

119,000km is about average for a 4 year old vehicle, there are still plenty of miles left in it!  A V8 engine should last 250k+ easy.  My 2004 has about 170k on it, and no signs of stopping.

Expect to drive it a lot.  I love driving mine, and find myself taking 'Sunday' drives again, something I haven't done for years!  Being a luxury vehicle, a daily driver and an off road vehicle; I take it everywhere.

If it has rear air bag suspension, just be wary that they tend to leak when they get old.  If you have coil springs, no worries.  It would be a good idea to have a mechanic look it over for peace of mind, or at least look for signs of abuse/damange.  Dinged bumpers, skid plates, exhaust, etc.  You'll likely be able to find a few marks on it, but unless a wheel is hanging off, it'll still get you home. :-)

That is a pretty good price!

Send a PM to Dave though, he has his H2 up for sale on here and it is very competitively priced!

The H2 is a beautiful vehicle, if this one doesn't work out for whatever reason don't give up the hunt.  Hopefully the title is clean, great price if the vehicle checks out!
