My next mod is to install a CB Radio. I am going to get it done this month. One of the things that I wanted was to keep the inside of my H2 looking as clean as possible. I was not so keen on having a CB radio either temporarily installed or bolted on to the paneling inside the vehicle.
I found this article on the HUMMER X Club forum by Humminnboatin. He did a great install. Check it out: http://www.hummerxclub.com/forum/viewto ... =3&t=10096
I am going to do the same thing, but I am thinking of using the Uniden PRO538W CB Radio with the front firing speaker. It also has a PA system. The PA system sounds fun. I am going to mount the speaker behind the front grill, and get a 4 foot flexible antenna for the roof mounted on my Gobi Stealth rack with a quick connect.
I am going down to the states to pick up the pieces. I will post some photos.
Cheers, Sean

This is better.
I posted this on the other forums and thought it might be good info to share here as well.
I have talked about it for a long time, And I finally did it. I have to say they should have come from the factory like this!!

It was not easy to do. I had to cut apart the ON-STAR face plate and mate it with epoxy too an aftermarket stereo basket to get it all to look that good. I am OCD and wanted it to look stock. My onstar is usless as its analog. And really no reason to upgrade it to digital as I have a cell with a digital signal.

I made the antenna mount look factory as well. My truck is an 03 with the fm/am antenna on the roof. I got this louver from an 04 and with some cutting and grinding of a 90degree connector and 2-part epoxy I came up with this. I also went and got a 3' K40 superflex antenna. Overall it looks 100% factory.

Re: Red Neck On-Star
you had to take your center console out to get that face plate off from in front of the radio?

Hi Eric,
Do you have any pictures of the backside of the Antenna Mount??? This is the cleanest install I have ever seen! Nice Work! And Yes I will be mounting mine the same way!
Thanks,
Kev

Re: Red Neck On-Star
I do not. But soon I will be taking some new ones. It's a long story but I broke the mount and need to repair it. So when I do I will take some pix.
But what did was just got a 90 degree connector and cut it apart so it fit in side of the plastic housing. Then I just layed 2 part epoxy in the cavity to hold it all into place. The part I actually broke was the black plastic, the expoxy I layed in is still in place.
