My name is Derek and we have owned a H3 for a year now, I bought it for my wife as I thought it was a cool SUV. I have been more than pleased with this truck's performance over the past year. After owning ALOT (50+) vehicles and driving it out east and back I am totally impressed, I've been a mechanic for 25+ years and think H3s are misunderstood by the public. We bought it for it's practicality, not because it's a Hummer! My wife thinks it's the most useful vehicle she has ever had.I like driving it, just that I never get the chance... <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />



Anyhow, I am looking at replacing my Avalanche with a 2003 H2 and just looking for the realistic issues with this truck, known problems, repairs, parts cost and availability.....fuel mileage <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />



So I figure this is the best place to get some HONEST feedback on this truck.

I am sure you will get lot's of info hear to help you out.What all H2 drive fell ...is the fuel$$$...APART FROM THAT THEY LOVE IT!

Hey Derek,



I can give some pretty good feedback as I hane a 2008 H3 Alpha and a 2008 H2 Luxury (Yes the wife is mad at me). The H2 is an absolute dream to drive and a hack of alot of fun. I have driven at 05 for awhile and looked specifically for the 08 as the 6.2 is a bit better on gas than the 6.0 with a few more horses. I also like the newer dash. Had it off road on the 20th for the first time and she did pretty good but once I sell my H3 - will look at a small lift and new Toyo MT's.



So in the end - they get a high recomendation from me... only things I know of to look out for are the tie-rods and the airride system on the adventure model. The compressor works awesome, but most reccomend replacing the bags with springs which I think is agood idea as you don;t want to have one of those pop on you....
