Fast Idle Kit For H2

Post by whitehumh2 »

Have you wanted a fast idle on your H2...I know I have!

So after much research I came across this, http://offroadengineering.com/product-gmsuv.html

I talked with Laura Muertter and she was very helpful and very fast to respond to emails and phone calls.

So I ordered mine and I just installed it. I must say I am VERY IMPRESSED!!! The kit is SUPER EASY to install! It took me about an hour to install, but it could be done in less...I just like making things look better than factory and I like hiding the wires!!

I installed the switch in the block under the rear wiper switch and it looks like it was meant to be there!!

The kit comes factory preset for 1200-1300rpm but I adjusted mine to 2000 to 2200rpm as this is for winching when I am not in the H2!! The kit will only work with the H2 in Park and with no foot on the brake and the second you touch the brake it shuts off!

I am VERY PLEASED!!! When my camera starts working again, I will post up some pics!

Order yours Today!!! You Won't Be disappointed!!!

So to give an update on this product!

It has now been almost 5 years that I have it and it is Still Awesome!!!

It has Always been Awesome but I can't get over how great it works!

The system can be activated by a manual switch that allows you to command it on provided you are in park and not touching the brake. It will hold the engine rpm at whatever point you have set it. Mine is set to 2000rpm.

This is great for lots of winching your buddies...it keeps the battery happy!

The system also has an auto-throttle feature that will raise engine rpm to the preset the moment the battery voltage drops below 13volts and once the applied load allows battery voltage to return to over 13.2volt it will return the engine to idle.

It is super cool!!

And they make them for most offroad vehicles too!

And their Customer service Is Excellent!!!

And yes You NEED This Option more than you Realize!!!

I like the idea of this a lot.

Do you have any concerns about the stress on the transmission being in park without any assistance from the brakes while pulling?

Nope! I usually use my front winch to lock me in place if I am pulling from my rear winch and vice versa. I also have wheel chocks for heavy pulls but the winch anchoring works best!

If I remember correctly it cost less than $200.

Installation was plug and play.
