Hey guys,

anyone ever play around with Coil Spring spacers at all? either 1" or 2" lift? just wondering if they could be a cheap starter way to raise the truck just a little?

What are your thoughts?

I hear the body lifts are a little pricey and timely? I was just lookin at cheap temporary alternatives to try out.

I did the 2 Inch spacer in the rear and T-max cam keys in the front fore 2.5" and I love the height and look..

I wanted a 4" lift but was quoted $6k - 8K which is too much for me! This cost me well under $1000..

Cheap + H1 dont really go hand in hand. What you may sacrifice in price you will feel in comfort, as the comfort and ride quality goes kaput when you rock coil spacers from what Ive read. Not only that, but I really doubt there is much of a price difference between the two kits, though the labor may be different.

The issue with coil spacers is the additional strain the extra height has on your suspension and your drivetrain. You would be much better off with new plow springs or winch springs to get a lift if you are sagging a bit on older springs. If you have newer springs than the coil spacers will do the following:

-bottom out your shocks, this will make them go quicker or tear a mount

-bind your drivers side half shaft (shortest shaft binds when suspension is bottomed out)

-put additional strain on your balljoints and centerlink as they are working on obscure angels they were not designed for (for long periods of time)

I machined my own 1" spacers and installed them on the front of my 2006 H1. They gave me 2" lift.

Ride quality did not change at all. I had to build my own spring compressor as the ones available

are not up to the task.

You own an H1 man.Nows not the time to be cheap.

Do the job right,

put in new springs, plow if you want it up high, and check the shocks while doing this.

Another note for the spacer addition, the ball joints bind and could shear off.

Plow springs go in easy. They are a little shorter than stock, but heavier.

Running these springs in my 99 and beefing up the rear with up-armoured M1113 rear springs. Yes the ride will be a little stiffer, but, while rock climbing, the wheels will not top out inside the wheel wells.

Have both front plow springs and rear vari rate ,or M1113 springs in stock. Also have 32+ shocks.

How can the ball joints bind if you haven't changed your suspension travel???

I trying to understand why it is that if you lift your front end with new springs everything is great.

But if you lift it by useing spacers, everything bad that could posibly happen will. How does that work?
