Hey Guys,



I need to replace the sagging front springs on my 2001 wagon, truck has a factory installed warn winch, the truck only has 46000Miles on it.

I just finished getting 40" Procomp X terrains installed and they ride and drive great but now its really obvious how much the front has sagged...



I also have the full lenght roof rack and a factoy brushguard on the truck...



What would you guys that have experience with both the winch springs and plow springs recommend???



the truck sees alot of logging road and back road miles so I dont want something that is going to rattle my teeth out(which the current springs are doing cause they have sagged so far...)

would winch springs and then putting the winch on a diet using synthetic line be a better route???

I switched from Steel Line to Synthetic, and while in no way shape or form would I discourage you from making the switch, to think that you will have *noticeable* weight savings/differences isnt realistic. the front wire maybe weighed 80ish pounds at best (and I think Im being way too generous). While the syn rope is leaps and bounds safer and a better product than steel, dont put any hope in it doing much for your suspension issue.



Do you have a lift on your truck in order to stuff the 40's under?

Check the distance from the front cross member to ground. The spec for spring replacement is 16".With stock tires at 28-30psi

Spring ratings approx

Stock --750

Winch --1200

Plow --1700

I have not found much of a difference from stock to Plow. Main difference is the ride height .Heavier spring, higher she sits.

Ok thats kind of what I figured about putting the winch on a diet...



the truck doesnt have a lift... yet... but the 40x13.5R17 xterrains fit fine with only a little rubbing at full lock, and it is slightly worse with the suspension compressed, but I havent had any issues yet...



So the ride difference with the plow springs isnt that noticable, i guess i could always find more stuff to add to the truck to bring the weight up <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />



so is the $200 per spring from crazy canuck a good deal?

$200 per spring is a great deal.



However, I highly recommend getting a body lift with 40's, that little rubbing will turn to full out destruction offroad, once your front suspension flexes offroad (or even a uneven grade at a slow speed) it will destroy your hood. Trust me, I cracked my hood with 37's.. My 40's barely clear with a 2" lift, I still have occasional rubbing when offroad.

How did you crack your hood on 37's? Was it on aftermarket rims? I dont think Ive heard of anyone else having an issue with their 37's and rubbing/damage???

Stock Wheels, MTR's with runflats. Put all weight of the truck on a single tire and you will see how quickly that spring bottoms out, at full lock.. it catches the lip of the hood. A bunch of guys have cracked their hoods on the hummernetwork, but you really have to be in a weird angle to accomplish it.

$200 is a good price for sure!

And the springs already showed up 2 days ago, now just to find the time to put them in... that and the body lift...
