I need to install a brake controller on my 06 H2. When I installed one on my 06 f150 it came with an adapter. That I plugged in under the dash and then wired it up to the brake controller? Curious if anyone has installed one on a hummer and if so what do I need. If it just as simple as the f150 ?

Brake Controller?

I put mine in on my 05 SUT and there is a Connector Block under the dash on the left side and I think it is the second from the Left on the top row. It will be marked on the label on the back side of the cover.

There is a plug in Harness available that plugs right in and gives you all the connections needed to wire to whatever type of Electric or Electronic Brake Controller. I had a Brake Controller from another vehicle that I reinstalled once I got my SUT and had a harness kicking around the garage once I remembered where I had put it finally... <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':unsure:' />

I left the harness a little longer and put wire loom over the harness from the connector block to the brack control and tyrapped it up under the dash to ensure keeping it away from the brake pedal and steering column as well.

There are holes under the center of the dash below the steering column as well for mounting but I prefered to mount mine to the right hand side of the dash close to the console so it can be viewed or controlled manually when needed while driving.

Make sure to verify the wiring is also in place under the hood for power to the trailer as well to charge the batteries if equipped as well as the trailer Brake Battery Box to keep them charged while driving. On some vehicles they had that red power wire coiled up close to the firewall on the harness coming from the rear and it goes to Stud # 1 in the Under Hood Fuse Power Box on the Driver's Side and ensure that there is a 60 Amp Fuse installed at the Fuse Center under the hood as mine had a Red Dummy Fuse installed that I just replaced with the proper 60 Amp Fuse and the wire was already installed to the #1 stud in my case on my vehicle.

Most trailer hitch shops will carry the Plug In Harness made to go in Slot 2 under the dash if needed.



Princess Auto has a nice Tester power plug that fits the rear trailer plug with 6 LED's on it that make it easy to verify all the lights and power and electric brake outputs is all working to the plug and saves trying to troubleshoot with a Meter especially if you don't have a helper around that was under 10 bucks.

Sounds pretty much the same as my 150 cool thanks! Guess I'll have to check under the hood when I get home ! .. Thanks for the help!

Installing it now I can't find the connector. ... So your saying it's on the back of the fuse block
