and I really liked how it turned out ..and I happened to notice that alot of the chrome parts I have on my rig are looking rough from all the "elements" lol ( I never wash it).It made me feel motivated to clean up my girl .. So I turned my garage into a paints shop this weekend and started stripping off all the chrome and paint them ....I honestly thought it would be a quick DIY job and Id be done in a day ...pffft prep takes forever ....any way heres some pics of my rigs transformation ....hope its not to boring lol

used the fishing line trick to get all the pieces on that were on with 3m tape ...works pretty good.

this stuff that was to hard to get off I just did on the truck ..

Ok heres where I thought Id be different . I didnt want to paint all the pieces black , I wanted a little color in there so I got creative ....I figure if i dont like it I can always sand and paint with the bed liner stuff I used ...cause once you spray it with that stuff theres no turning back lol ....as for now i like it ....some may not like it but I dont care, its my rig ..not yours lol ....

heres the pieces I decided to paint flat olive drab and then clear coat with a high gloss ...almost matches my stock paint lol ...

I was so tired of sanding at this point .....after a few beers I was motivated again <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I like it alot better. Personally, I think some black lens covers up top would complement it really nicely. I bought some KC Hilite 6" ones, and had a friend paint them at his bodyshop and they turned out minty. I'd also spray the PIAA lens grilles down below so theyre all black/one colour instead of the white writing. Post up specifically which paints you used for which applications, I'd be interested for a future project!

Looks awesome dude, more pics needed! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />
