HUMMER Driving Academy 2011 for CHC
Date: October 10-14 2011
The HUMMER Driving Academy is designed for all registered HUMMER owners who want to prepare for a positive off-road experience with their vehicle. The Academy will take place on 320 private acres of northern Indiana terrain with obstacles specifically designed to challenge a HUMMER. Participants can look forward to developing their skills. All participants receive special attention by the trainers.
"This program can prepare any HUMMER owner for a positive off-road experience with their vehicle," says Bill Thompson, AM General director of fleet sales and commercial services and creator of the HUMMER Driving Academy. "The classes and hands-on driving techniques provided by the Academy staff benefit both novices and experienced owners alike," says Thompson.
Your skills will be developed on a series of "controlled obstacles" that showcase specific off-road systems of the vehicle. Once you have mastered the "controlled" setting, your skills will be further developed on a hierarchy of Level 1, 2 and 3 backwoods trails as well as classroom instruction on trip preparation, recovery techniques and proper usage of the Global Positioning System. The 320 acres of trails will offer a myriad of twisted, rooted, moguled, stump-strewn mud runs, steep inclines, side slopes, rock crawls, sand pits, ravines, streams, ponds and more. At the completion of this intense training, you'll drive away with knowledge, skill and confidence to use 100 percent of your HUMMER's potential.
Message me for more details on forms and our group rates.
This is for all levels of drivers, and an experience worth every penny, so far we have two CHC members registered, there is room for 4-6 more.
If you have the time, this is one not to miss!!! See you there!

Re: Hummer Driving Academy 2011
I have been informed today that we have three members registered for this.. excellent!!!! it will be a great time, something hard to miss...it is a bit pricey but well worth it to learn all the secrets as well as trail repairs and a lot more.. also a day at the sand dunes with AMG is included.. driving their trucks so yours won;t break...
I don't think we have a lot of members that have attended this before other then some original owners, like Norm, or maybe some certified Hummer mechanics like Kevin and Phil.. so I would have to listen to them for what is the best to expect...and I also believe that it has changed a lot of the years.. it is a trip to AMG's Off road track on steroids and then some...
We are not sure how many of these they will still have as they are not making our trucks anymore and they stopped doing this for H2 and H3 trucks...
Let me know...I will easily make a personal call for any of our members to AMG to get you on their list still..

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!

Re: Hummer Driving Academy 2011
Well Day 2 was not a disappointment that's for sure! After the awesome gear we got the AM General Staff went through the essentials for recovery...safe recovery. Then we buried an Alpha in the sand...time to winch it out <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... edface.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Covered hand signals followed by an excellent trail ride back to the rocks. Sadly, we can't tell everything, you may want to consider taking the course...
Looking forward to another fun filled day tomorrow!
