Hi members, I'm new to the site, I hope you can help me. I have a 2003 H2 hummer I have replaced the air compressor in the suspension with the new double stage, I have used the old module from the single stage but when it tries to start it makes a clicking sound, I have talked to my overpriced Hummer dealer and they are not happy that I didn't pay the 3500 to them for the compressor so they said that I need a new module for $835 and they will not even check the codes until they plug in the new module, no return If that is not the problem I told them I would buy the part myself, ( on line for $235 ) plug it in myself then they can check the codes, this also didn't make them happy. I was wondering if I can use the old module and update it or do I need a new one? any imput would be great.

thanks <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ey-013.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wtf:' />

Your best approach would be to ask Steve at Master Mechanics in Brampton (if you are close to him, that would be my first visit!!!) You can contact him with a Personal Message. Look up Olishooter and send him a personal message describing the problem. He is a great guy and a Hummer Technician who has done tons of work on the air suspension systems (personally, he will probably tell you to remove it, but he will give you the right guidance as to how to fix it)

OK i have thought about this one for a day and i have done some research on the code c0711 that you have. I remember having this code and it was related to a software issue. First step would be to see if that module can be re-programmed to suit your needs. I have the means of doing this for you depends where you are located. If that does not work a new module will be needed. As well are we sure the used unit is good. Why was the old one replaced? I have seen this problem before when the compressor just clicks and it points to a bad relay for the compressor. A quick call to your local GM store can tell you if there are two seperate part numbers for the modules. This unit works well when it works but when it breaks it causes BIG headaches.Over-all some diagnosis is needed to determine the source of the code. As usual my head is going faster then i can write and I cant write everything that needs to be checked to determine the source of your problem. Again some diagnosis is needed by someone who knows these trucks to eliminate wasted dollars on parts and time and pin point the problem. i hope this helps if needed call me with other questions. cheers

Steve thanks for the information, I would take it to you but I'm in Calgary, I figured that the relay might be a problem so I changed it, I checked the new compressor and it works fine but the relay doesn't get a signal from the module so it must be a software thing, I will get it looked at as I have tried everything else with no luck and I'm at the end of my rope, A new module from GM is 830.00 do you know anybody who might have changed over to coil springs and might have an extra module kicking around, or is there a site in Canada that sells it as gmpartsdirect.com out of the states will not ship here.

Thanks John

Steve thanks for the reply, I bought a new module for $250 pluged it in and it works great. I would of reprogramed the old one but the dealer wanted to charge a couple of hours and might of still needed a module. so problem solved.
