I have diff fluid leaking on the driver side of my rig. The leak seems to be on the housing side of where the CV shaft attaches to the front diff. (The star shaped mount with 5 bolts) Does anyone here know what the cause could be. Secondly what is required to fix this. The truck is a 2004 H2. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

Sounds like a simple axle shaft seal. It happens. Relatively easy to replace. Remove the front skid plate. Undo the 6 axle shaft bolts. Let the axle hang down. Knock the stub shaft out with a hammer...it should take one good smack...it is only a snap ring holding it in place. Pry out the old seal. Install the new one. Polish the stub shaft sealing surface as best you can and reinstall. One good smack of the hammer will relock it in place. Change your oil in your front diff...you should do it once a year anyways! Reinstall the axle shaft and skidplate and enjoy! Seal replacement should take about an hour!

Hope this helps!
