Frank,<DIV> </DIV><DIV>I had recently replace a couple of my hub output seals, and found one that had the retaining nut finger tight.  The lock screw was held by locktite, but once that tiny screw was removed, I did not need to break the clampnut loose from the spindle... I was able to spin it off using just my fingers.  Pretty scary, as that clampnut is all that's holding the spindle in the geared hub.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Thanks for the heads up.  I guess as the spindle is slowly moving outwards, the first thing to go is the spindle CTIS extension slipping out from the spindle CTIS seal.  Sadly at that time it's virtually all the way out of the hub already (causing the oil leak). </DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Robert</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>97 TD wagon</DIV>
