okay so we are away for a relaxing week in the Smoky Mountains in beautiful North Carolina, 16 hours from home and we end up is Jackson County...a beautiful resort, an unbelievable suite (HUGE) and the scenery, couldn't ask for more. The H2 is getting looks left, right and center..the road that comes up here reminds me of the something from an amusement park, back and forth, left, then right , then turn upside down and around, crazy but for sure a challenge....

so we goto the local grocery store to stock up our kitchen and Julie goes one way, Anthony and I go the other..Anthony and my task, get the essentials..milk, bread, eggs, BEER and Wine... well after lapping the store three times and starting the think that the 16 hour drive had really messed up our minds, we finally ask a clerk where is the Beer and Wine..he response... sorry sir.. the county is DRY... what the heck?? I thought he was joking but.. NOPE!! only two bars in town sell beer or wine, not hard liquor..if you want to actually buy Beer for your resort, you have to drive down a mountain... that wasn't in the flyer....ImageImage

Guess who is driving down the mountain today.....

You need to get an ARB Fridge/Freezer so you can bring it with you and it will be cold when you get there!

Have a great vacation!

Hey Toronto used ,like into the ninties, have a dry area roughly bounded by the CN/CP tracks, Jane St and Bloor St. It shrank to the area of Keele St. east It's now gone but High Park is still Dry.

The boundary for this actually bisected the Edgewood Restaurant so owners had signs to tell you if you could get drinks at your table. In fact there was no restaurants on the north side of Bloor in The Bloor West Village ( why to this day most are on the South side)the only outlets were the corner of Bloor and Dundas, The Edgewood and a LCBO and Beer Store on Dundas east of Jane against the tracks. So now you know.
