I believe the rattling noise when your idling is same problem i just had fixed it is a pully that has the rubber worn out of it and that causes the rattling, you can get this part from both GM and Hummer but GM is cheaper I was quoted from my mechanic $400 for this part to see if its the part then open the hood look at the big pully at the bottom of the engine if that is rattling then thats the problem
