The gas comments drive me nuts .. my gas mileage is no worse then a 1/2 tonne truck... and is just as "useful" as a mini-van or explorer etc....

I have given up answering the mileage question as no one truly understands or believes whatever you tell them anyways...

“whats the fuel mileage like?"…. I don’t care, I have comfort when I drive and ability when I need it.
One of the guys I work with told me the carbon foot print just to build a prius is the same as driving my H2 for 3 years, doing 25,000Kms a year….
If that is true, who is doing less damage now?

Exactly....... I have yet to talk to an owner of any half ton pickup from any manufacturer that ACTUALLY gets much (if any) better mileage than the H2, honestly and correct me if I am wrong here! Never mind what the window sticker says, 13-14mpg is typical for a half ton, at least for any pickup owner I've ever talk to!! They think it gets 20mpg though..... DO THE MATH EINSTEIN 20L/100K IS NOT THE SAME AS 20MPG
GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src='
http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' /> (it's roughly 12...) Big vehicle, big engine, big bills at the pump no way around it!!
Preaching to the choir most often though since Alberta rednecks are not know for the abundance of the population holding math degrees!!! (Not that you need one for the impossibly difficult grade school math required) They do love their trucks though... All I'm saying is lets live in the actual reality that we ACTUALLY LIVE IN, not some fantasy land presented in Technicolor where we get 20mpg in our pickups as we travel to Oz where we'll ask the wizard for a pony and a sorely needed BRAIN <img src='

I'm not perfect and I'm certainly no genius, but I also do not hold strong opinions on thing I do NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND!!!!!!! I know what I know, and I know what I don't know, is this such a difficult concept?<img src='
http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='???' />??? Live and let live my friends!! We are all equal!! <img src='

Using life cycle analysis we are told that the energy requirement as the dollar cost of energy for every mile across a vehicles anticipated years of use - "U.S. dollars per lifetime mile"
It's reported that the lifetime energy requirement of a HUMMER as $1.90 per mile; the lifetime energy requirement of a (hybrid) Prius as $2.86 per mile. <img src='
