Re: H1 Finally!!

I though I'd make post regarding the various stages I'll be going through.
Finally drove the H1 home on Monday after waiting so long for it!!
Here's a quick "coles notes" version so far:
- Removed 95% of the interior so I could give it a true cleaning and wanted to see the wiring for myself.
- Re-loomed the wires going to the back. (they had dirt and mud inside the loom with the wires)
- Fixed a non-working rear passenger door lock
- Fixed a broken hose from the AC/Heater unit (might have been the drain hose which would explain the mess under the console)
- cleaned all rear carpets
- added rearview mirror (not sure where the stock one went!)

Pics will be coming. I should just leave my laptop in the garage so I can
post them right away!
Changed over the steering wheel using a grant and apc kit to put on my apc wheel. Under $100 for everything.
Cut my own key to work for my rear cargo lock. The key I had didn't work so I bought a blank key and dremeled it so the tumblers would all stay in when the key slides in. $2.99 for the key! Next time I'll go to Walmart for keys!
Next step will be to start doing the sound proofing. For this I have 2 materials. 1st one is a foam I picked up at Home Depot 6x9 roll for $39
It's waterproof/mildew resistant/mold resistant and excellent for sound proofing. (In the flooring area at HD)
The 2nd material is a graphite/rubber compound made for sound proofing cars. I've seen this glued to trunks before. the size is 7" x 7' sheets. Free from my wifes cousin. This stuff is made for Volvo. It's heavy but the light foam will compensate and I'll remove the plywood in the rear to same some weight as well.
Once this is down I'll be painting the panels from gray to black. I've done this before with great results. Some of the panels are faded a lot.
