Trade Plymouth PROWLER for HUMMER H1

I'm looking to sell or trade my 99 Prowler for a Hummer H1 (or perhaps an 08+ H2 or SUT). I'm located in BC.

It's a local Canadian car, showroom condition. I am the second owner and have babied the car. Very very low mileage - currently has just over 20k km, so this obviously reflects the state of the car. Paint shines like new, no dents, wheels have zero curb rash (optional chrome), interior leather is in mint condition, convertible top is mint. No accidents.

1999 had the all new 3.5-liter High Output 24-valve aluminum block V6 (increased horsepower from 214 hp to 253 hp , and torque from 221 lb-ft to 255 lb-ft).

Prowler is stock except for a custom Flowtech exhaust (still have the original one if you want to change back). Air Conditioning is ice cold. Aircared for another two years.

I also have it listed on craigslist:

Nice set of wheels. I'd trade my 01 wagon but my wife would kill me!!

Another toy with only enough room for me and...hmmmmm.

Thanks Having only 2 seats does have its advantages In any case, Ontario is too far away for a trade anyways...so your wife needs not to worry

Cool Car!

Awesome pics as well, what program did you use to modify them?

Ive always loved the prowler, my aunt actualy has a purple one, its a fun car to drive, but really gets alot of attention. If one were to ever find its way into my garage, i would have to do a 6.1L Hemi conversion on it. This is the closest thing you can get to a Custom/Mass produced ride. They are all allumium frame, and were very hand built. Ive seen some pics from the assembly line, and its pretty cool to see how they were built.

Thanks for the kind comments all of you It was one of the first production cars with an all aluminum frame and body and was produced by the same team that worked on the Vipers. Makes it very light weight - only 2700lbs. So it actually goes pretty damn fast, especially with the new aluminum engine - I don't miss a V8 under the hood (and it would be a very tight squeeze to fit a 6.1L under there, if it's even possible - I know there was a V8 conversion done on one a while back, but it was a 4.7L engine). Having owned two Vettes before the Prowler, I don't really notice a huge performance difference. The handling on the Prowler is actually even more crisp and you have a far better feel for the road. And it does get A LOT OF ATTENTION It surely isn't a car to blend in. Anyways, whoever will end up the next owner of this beast will have tons of fun with it and enjoy every sunny day cruising with the top down.

TTT Prowler ad

Here are two fairly objective reviews from 99 if anyone's interested, one from Car and Driver (ignore the kid in the yellow Prowler ), the other from Motor Week. Enjoy Quality isn't super, but hopefully good enough...

Thanks again From what I hear, the Prowler was initially only scheduled for a 4 year run, but was then extended to 5. It was brought to production as a show car for Plymouth, like the Viper did for Dodge (they were produced in the same facility). They didn't care if they made money on it. Simply breaking even was considered unlikely.

It was also built using high-tech aluminum, and was experimental from the standpoint that they wanted to find out if aluminum could be the metal of the future for vehicles. You have to remember that aluminum was 4 times as expensive back then as steel. Pretty mutch all of the car was made from aluminum. The entire frame only weighs 216 lbs. One person could lift that Here are pics of the frame and chassis:

I don't think that anything like the Prowler will ever be produced again. All those regulations and safety standards would never allow such a design again, but I hope I'm wrong. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

its funny to say but i know one guy her in Toronto who has a Yellow H2 and Prowler as a summer rig..lol his name is Roman, he constantly hauls his Prowler to some prowler shows in North America and constantly talks about either hummer or prowler etc.

Is it so much appealing Hummer and Prowler/ how 2 people could come acress at same time with exact same thought of owning wellow hummer H2 and a Prowler ? coincidence , accident or desease?
