Just thought I would mention it here, some of the guys from Beyond are planning to hit the winter trails on Dec 17th. I am planning to tag along for it as I have some friend going.



Just a word of caution about this group: As me and Dave & Steve found out one year, they are not terriably organized and often you get guys running ahead or splitting off. While you do have some very good guys there (often CJA, CT4WD, CI4WD and Land Rover club members) who have your back, I wouldn't count on some of the newbs that sometimes show up to not ditch you on a whim. I'd strongly suggest anybody from the CHC that goes sticks together to mitigate that factor.



On the flip side of that caution, I kind of enjoy these runs as I've met a lot of good people over the years through the mish-mash of people that go.

PS: If you have an H2, I'd strongly suggest we get at least two as there is not usually anything within this group able to pull around that type of weight if you get stuck (as I've found out a number of times trying to pull H2's).

I will be at a Christmas party that evening so I will be unable to attend. Hopefully you can get a couple others out there with you to represent CHC.

Here is the offical thread: I've laid out some ground rules to try and weed out some of the problems we had with decrepid rigs showing up in previous runs, the rule about keeping rigs behind you in your sight, also that people are to stick around if somebody breaks down.

I am not too worried, so far I know all of the people signed up. Fraser obviously, Sebastian used to be one of the Fit club members and is very trustworthy, the guy with the blue Jeep I think has come out with us before (Not the guy who jumped his jeep btw). I am expecting Victor from CT4WD to be signed up for this as well... possibly Alak from the Land Rover club too.

I think I can make this run - I'll let you know.

We will have to see how rough the winter trails are, Vic was telling me that he ran into some fairly nasty stuff on them when he was on the SRD sanctioned run. If they get a lot of snowfall up there it should be fine, otherwise for the sake of the new guys & those with fairly stock trucks we may have to scale it back.



Vic said he is interested in going on this run as well, I think we can make the call once we get out there. We might also look at splitting the group up if we get a lot of people signed up... that way the experienced guys can still tackle the winter trails while the newbs and more stock trucks can do a loop up to the lake and back.





Also Greg: I don't know if you know Ryan (AKA: Sprocket) from your racing years, but he is setting up a run to the falls here:
