Don't panic

I recently noticed my check engine light on my dash while I was out and about.



My girlfriend had been driving my truck previously and I was starting to get worried.



Instead of taking it to the dealer, I picked up a "Launch c-reader iv" and connected it to the socket under and to the left of the steering wheel on the H2.



I got 2 codes reported back.



p0174 and p0430 ( not sure about the last one, fuzzy memory or altzimers? )



This indicates a few things but the general concensus on the internet is a loose fuel cap.



Sure enough, my locking fuel cap was not on......



Asked my girlfriend and she said that she had some trouble putting it back on and instead of asking me, she just kind of put it in and didn't lock it.



Reset the check engine light, properly installed the fuel cap, took it for a spin on the highway and it has not come on since.



Not sure how much the mechanic would have charged me for that revelation but the OBD code reader ran me 60 bucks.
