I wanted to post something here to introduce myself to you guys. My name is Andrew and I'm from Buffalo. I don't own a Hummer currently, but I do in my dreams! Hopefully I will own one someday soon. Right now I own a Dodge Ram. It's a good truck, but it's not a Hummer.
I've been a fan of Hummers since I was a little kid. I had tons of die cast Hummers, books, posters and other goodies from the Hummer Stuff catalog. That was back when they had a real catalog filled with H1 things. Then I got a little older and I lost interest in the Hummers for a while. I was to busy with work, school, life and trying to get a car a teenager could afford.
Fast Forward many years....
Earlier last year my boss mentioned to me that his friend, had a friend who was selling his H1. I didn't see it or know any details really but it reminded of the little kid inside of me who loved those things.
This summer I was at work (FedEx) and happened to walk by a window, only to see a Hummer H1 Wagon parked outside! The owner was here picking up wheels. I went out to the parking lot and started talking to him. He was from Canada (he might be somewhere on this forum) he knew a lot about the H1's, we spoke for maybe 10-15 min. After that I knew the kid inside me was back, and I'm going to have to make a major vehicle upgrade.
Thanks to some Canadian Hummer owner out there I'm hooked once again. Hopefully someday I'll own a H1 and I can park along side you guys. But if you guys don't mind I would just like to learn more about the best truck on the planet.
Andrew

Sounds a lot like a CHC pick up for the border. Our little monster is an H3 Alpha one of the first light and fast enough to run on top of mud look in Oct 2nd falls colour run. Truck name is Black Rhino. so welcome to the club and the dream watch for the toronto gathering in May and the Niagara Falls Ribfest in June you will meet many Hummer owners crews and families at these events.

Don't hate on Dodge, it hasn't let me down yet. Sure I can't drive it into 2 feet of water, into a mine field or into 3 feet of snow....but at least its paid for. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

We have a pretty large number of Canadians picking up everyday. So you guys aren't alone. If you guys ever have shipping problems feel free to get a hold of me. I deal with stuff like that all day long.
Thanks for the invite. I saw photos of the meet in the falls, that looks like a fun time. I didn't know about the Toronto meet, but I'll have to look into it.

Thanks for talking to me that day. Because of you my Hummer addiction is back. If we didn't speak then I don't think I would be on this site. I might even be on a Prius site now! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> Did you have any problems at the border? How are your wheels?
Everyone, thank you for the kind welcome. You have a great site here, hopefully I can become an active part of it.
It's good to know that there are people out there keeping these trucks alive. I really don't see any H1's here in Buffalo. I only know of a few in the area and I don't think they are used that much. There are plenty of H2's and H2's but as you know the H1's are pretty rare.
I saw on craigslist a 99 4 door open top for sale in Rochester (1.5hrs East of Buffalo). I really wanted to go look at it, but I knew if I did then I would be driving it home. Part of me said buy a house first, but the other part said to buy the H1. The house side won and the Hummer is off craigslist now.
Anyways, thanks again for the warm welcomes.
I'll talk to you guys later,
Andrew

Re: Hello from Buffalo NY
Does you Ram Pickup have a Cumins Diesel if so look up the H1's with rebuilds from YOUR truck's engine. In other words we don't hate Dodges we use them for PARTS. PS we call them Dummers
