No Steering when braking

When I brake I loose all power steering and when I release brake, power steering comes back!

Anyone know what's going on?

I installed the Rock Ram kit with new power steering pump and gearbox two weeks ago. Wonder if that could be the cause?

You should give your seller a call to fix that problem.

Rubberduck has a statement in the instructions saying "to call before bleeding" as improper bleeding will and does cause bad problems.

Thanks Roy. Yes I did call before bleeding and followed their instructions to the letter. Even using the oil they wanted me to use. But today it's working fine! I guess it was just the cold weather we had that had jammed something somewhere. It was -35C this weekend

-35C <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/c-n.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':coffeenose:' /> At that temp, the earth stops rotating I guess some fluids freeze or get really thick at that temp....even we have -7C in Vancouver today. Pretty cold for this place. Some snow in the morning, but nothing a Hummer couldn't handle (about 3 cm ).

the hydraboost system is setup with a priority valve which will divert the power steering pressure to the brakes first, then steering.

So if you were braking hard it is possible that is what the issue was.

it was probably exaggerated by the cold, the oil in the rock ram was probably almost solid so it could have added a lot of resistance.
