Looking to install HID lights on my 2006 H2 SUT,



Don't know anything about them so I need any advice you can give me.



Looking for a kit that is as "Plug and Play" as possible.



What do you have and where did you get them?

I got a phillips kit and they were plug and play... I have only single beam ones, no high beams but these ones are so great, i don;t need high beams..I bought mine a few years back.. never had an issue..

I bought a kit locally from Mopac in Calgary. No idea what make the components are or even a brand name but so far no issues and they're working great.



Ballasts are the slim kind and you can't hear them with the hood closed. At Mopac they had both the low beam and hi/lo kits for sale so just personal preference what you prefer. I got the hi/lo kit but I don't really find myself using the high beams, on high they seem to light up the ditches a bit more but don't find the beam throws any farther... Huge improvement over stock though any way you slice it.



Installation was easy but you'll have some simple wiring to do just running power and ground, otherwise it's plug and play. The only issue I came across with my kit is that some of the stock wiring was too short due to the width of the H2 and placement of the headlights because of the clamshell style hood. I had to splice in some extra wire to get the length I needed, but again no real issue as it really takes 2 minutes to add a length of wire. May have similar issues with other kits so just FYI.

Rhino has a lumens h13 kit replaces the stock bulbs and has hi/lo function just plug in and replace bulbs and hang the two ballasts. Only issue the daylight/ full headlight sometimes fail to make transition so lights need to be restarted. Also headlights need to be realigned after job is done.

And if I can make a suggestion on one kit NOT to buy... There's a company that goes by HID Canada... I had one of their kits on my old H3 and huge headaches with it.



I had 3 warranty returns on that kit, terrible customer service (SLOOOOW service) and when it finally worked, the replacement bulbs they sent didn't even color match! Light output color-wise between bulbs wasn't matched...



Great sales pitch on their site and overall the kits sounded like nice kits, but trust me stay away!! Not worth the price or headache....
