Step bars for H1

Hi guys. I am considering to install a step bar for my truck. Budgetwise, i am looking on the one made by N-fab.. Any reviews,comments, ideas or suggestions about this? Also, does anyone has this on his truck and has actual pics? What about any other brands that have a reasonable price?

i was also shopping for bars but decided to go with predator protectors(triangulars), the good option is to ise these sort of steps: see pic - i like em for versatility and sofisticated look

I had the OEM ones on my truck and took them off after I bowed them up after numerous offroad trips. They ended up being more of rocksliders than anything else, and only rubbed up against the rocker-panel protection resulting in scratches. If youre offroading, or planning to, Id be very hesitant to install a set, as they can easily get ripped off.

Thanks for the input..if not mistaken this is made by Go-rhino right? Actually i am considering this option as well as the universtal truck step by Bully but just worried about the installation.. For sure this would not be a bolt-on application as we have to do drilling right? Please correct me if i am wrong..will i need to drill holes in order to install this? Where? What about the steb bar by nfab? Is it a bolt on or needs some hole drilling as well? Thanks

Thanks hesh.. I see what you mean.. For now the truck haven't seen the rocks or mud yet but my doors are not close for offroading as that what it is made up for.. Anyway, i am taking the chances as we really need a little boost.. My family are small people( wife is 5'1", and me only 5'6") lol!! So really have difficulty getting in and getting out.. anyway, i appreciate your input.. Cheers!- hehe its either the truck looks much bigger or us looks much smaller when cruising the town!

You just have to be a little more flexible. My wife is 5' even, and with the mods done on the black beast---41.5" tires, 2" body lift, heavy rated springs..

this one has versatility and can be adjustable , i ve red on forums people are takin em out when offroading with in minutes - i guess the way they do is they thread the hole and screw bolt directly to the alluminum bottom....it shouldnt be that hard since allminum is pretty thick...

i beleive Nfabs require complete bottom floor shield to be removed for install purposes....ive seen Phil had one removed for a client and ive seen them dented and rusty but i dont know mounting part

That would be the big obstacle, removing the factory rocker panel protection if it hasn't been removed in a few years. You may have to pull out some interior pieces and the rear seats to do it. And thats provided some of the bolts and cap screws aren't rusted, seized or worse yet, if the sliding collar bracket insert is broken off under the body tub



If you do go ahead and do this, I'd recommend getting the new AM General bracket/bolt piece for the front and rear of the rocker panel. It's 3 bolts welded to a metal bracket that keeps them lined up in the holes without pulling up the floor or pulling any rear seats out again.



Another option is to use the predator rocker sliders or to order a set of Hummer dans rocker panel sliders made of steel, they weight a ton but they will weld in steps onto the side angled bids you can step on on them. Plus those won't break or catch off road.
