Hi, yesterday tried to start my 08 H2.....it wouldn't start....it crank once, and after that there is no more sound when you turn the ignition....

The H2 is kept inside my condo garage, the last time time I drove the H2 was back in Dec 24 of last year.

Since then I usually heat-up the H2 and drive it around the condo garage once every 2 to 3 weeks.

I think the battery is dead....

Any ideas of what kind of a battery that is good for the H2 ?

If I need to replace it, is there any special procedure that I need to know in regards to removal of the dead battery and the installation of the new battery ?

Thank you.

My H2 I will leaved parked sometimes for weeks at a time and usually what I like to do is just throw on a trickle charger to keep it fully charged. I bought just a cheapo unit from Canadian Tire that monitors the battery so it doesn't get overcharged when it's plugged in for weeks at a time. There's tons of room under the hood so I just snake the cord through the grill so can even shut the hood.

No real trick to changing out the battery, just make sure positive cables go to the positive post and negative cables to the negative post! So yeah no real trick to it!!

Might be time for a battery though as I wouldn't expect a healthy one to discharge after just 2-3 weeks... I started my Mustang for the first time last week since October and it fired right up!!

A lot of guys will recommend either the Optima or Odyssey batteries, personally in the past I have bought just plain ol' batteries from Napa and they have served me well! If you've got a big stereo, run a winch or other high load accessories the premium brands will probably hold up a little longer...

Driving around for a few minutes usually isn't enough if you plan on storing it for 2 months or longer. What it probably needs is a good charge...maybe the batterie would still work. Did you try jump starting it and then going for a long drive or using a battery charger to completely recharge it? Otherwise look in your owners manual. I'm sure it will give you the correct Amp rating for the H2.
