H3 Misfire question

Hey guys,

Does anyone know roughly what it costs (parts+labour) to do the common 06 H3 cylinder head misfire.

I'm starting to have rough idle, got 1 error code 6-7 months ago but nothing since.. I have a feeling I'll be due for one..

Any idea what this might cost? (I'm out of warranty)

Well I had a bit of rough idling recently and when I mentionned it the tech looked at the version of the ICM software and I was shown that there was an update of the software. Hs upoaded it and the case of the rough idling was resolved. Maybe its the case here.

Never had this problem in 195000km in my H3 06 I5 M5

Well i couldn't resit this one . As Arch stated . Soft ware upgrade . Possible bad coil , or throttle body needs a good bubble bath ! Cylinder#3 usually pooches out on the I5 (Valve Leakage). Prelate 08 . I had my head changed snuck it in under WARRANTY with connections . Minor ERROR CYL#3 code ( miss fires). As to your main question ! To get the new redesigned head from the dealer installed . $3200 with out warranty . Always remember the I5 due to design is not a totally smooth running engine .You are driving an I5 powered vehicle. The I5s are not inherently balanced, they have to have additional balance shafts and they still vibrate. They suffer from vibrations (free moments) of the first, second and third order, which pretty much means they shake, but at different frequencies, in almost all the rpm bands. Idle is slower so you feel it more.

IOWs, they vibrate. They do not run smooth like a I6 or V8. Relax, get used to it !
