I tried searching for these keywords but the forum software doesn't like it.. words to short??? <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Anyway, I think I need to replace my gas cap, but I keep reading conflicting information. So, I am wondering if anyone has bought a gas cap for their H2 (specifically a 2007) what one (brand) worked OK to get rid of the check engine light, and "tighten fuel cap" message.

Hey Brian when you screw on your cap do you turn 3 extra times that is what I have had to do in past Mechanic buddy told me to do that and never had issues since.

Cheers

At least that many times. At the beginning that seemed to work, but not anymore with any reliability anyway. Some days I get that warning more then once, other days just once in the morning. So I know caps are not expensive and a common problem, so figured I would replace it and see where I get. But then, I started seeing other brands, and some people claim they fit right, others said they don't... so thought I'd bounce it around here.

I bought a locking cap from NAPA Part # 31844 for my 05 SUT and it is made by Stant and I carry my stock one to put on when washing it in these Alberta Winters just so it does not freeze and replace it after I get home back to Locked....

The Stant webste lists stock OEM models and the Locking type also

Hope that helps u

Yes, it helps 100%. I have ordered one. The Stant ones always come up in a search, but I read reviews where they didn't fit. I figured in most cases people ordered the wrong one, but figured someone here will have replaced one at some point and would know a part number or something.

Thanks a lot! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />
