Sugarphreak and myself had been in contact with Hypertech ages and ages ago about a tuner for the H3, knew it was in the works but never received a release date...
Guess what?!
It's finally here!!!
Hypertech for the H3
Looks to pick up a nice amount of power and on regular grade gas to boot (still offers a premium grade gas tune for a little more oomph). If anyone should pick up one of these be sure to share your experience! I have a Hypertech for my H2 and have been happy with it, should be a solid buy for the H3 as well!!

Hypertech had promised us beta testing units a long time ago... and then eventually just went the Road Armor route and ignored us <img src='

I went on their site 3 times and finally it showed up . Only thing is it is for 2008 to 2010 3.7 L . Why not 07 3.7 L ? I have to check my vin as per their instructions . Maybe it is still compatible ? If not ? 07 and lower can go with JET stage 1 or 2 chip . combine it with a Air Doc , and the JET Powr-Flo Mass Air Sensor . You should be pretty much good to go ! Not sure what the price is for the HYPERTECH ? Usually most programmers are $ 400 to $ 800 i believe .

PCM tune is still the way to go IMO; speedo fix, automatic transmission gear shifting and you can get them to tune it as per whatever modifications you have. And it is way cheaper.
One of these days I am going to do the exhuast on mine, then get a PCM tune.

Nothing
major it definitely isn't a miracle worker by any stretch. You can feel a little more pickup for sure, really nice is you can change the shift points to hold a gear for longer - downshift sooner, etc. With a good headwind I find at times it may hunt between gears a bit so you can eliminate that type of thing. You get a good bump in torque at low RPM which is nice around town, and somehow the motor just feels less labored cruising on the highway, hard to describe!!
Overall there are those that would find more benefits than I did, especially if you were running an oversized tire like most do where you can adjust the speedo - setting the shift points is more important still with the bigger tire.
Still think it's a good buy though and while I don't ever expect it to pay for itself in gas savings (about $400 for the unit) I do think it makes the Hummer run that much better! Worth it for that if anything else.
