Model Designations

Hey guys, just researching more about picking up another truck and am stuck on designations.

1) How many H1 Models are out there?

I've seen HMCO - open top?

HMC4- 4 door hard top?

HMCS- Wagon? Not sure what the "s"designates.

and the 2 CLX? was that right? two man version?

What if any differences are there between an AM General hummer and a built for GM AM General H1? ( Some people seem really stuck on differentiating between the two though I suspect there is very little difference if any from what I've seen in the AM General assembly plant.)

What other differences should a guy know about?

Ok Al,

There are several different models, they are as follows:

  • HMCO - 4-Passenger Full Door Open Top.
  • HMDO - 4 Passenger Full Door Open Top. (*D = Duramax)
  • HMCS - 4-Passenger Wagon. (S = Station wagon)
  • HMDS - 4 Passenger Wagon. (*D = Duramax)
  • HMC2 - 2-Passenger Hard Top.
  • HMC4 - 4-Passenger Hard Top.
  • HMSB - 4-Passenger Slantback. Only available in '99
  • XLC2 - 2-Passenger Hard Top Enlarged Cab.
  • VLCO - 4-Passenger Half Door Open Top.
  • VLC2 - 2-Passenger Hard Top.

As for the "differences" in the GM designed ones are; Duramax/Allison combo, interior redesign (more "comfy" and more to match their other vehicles), air intake cap, 2" body lift, quieter hub gears, amongst other things.

If you need any other info just ask! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
