Wondering on if anyone has installed an after market Back up camera in their H2 and how they integrate it with their OEM touch screen NAV unit<edited><editID>dwaxman1</editID><editDate>2008-05-07 07:53:48</editDate></edited>

DW
I do a lot of after market stuff to my truck but I usually replace the head unit as well. I could helop answer your question if you tell me what sort of inputs you have on the OEM unit. Then I can suggest the right camera and trigger that would work.

Re: Backup camera and integration to OEM NAV
Currently I have the OEM in Dash NAV on my 2005, I have purchased a NAV-TV GM 205 to integrate the SONY CCD camera I purchased. The camera has a Video RCA connector on it and requires 12V.
The NAV-TV has a input that goes inside the OEM Radio/NAV unit on the Main board and comes with a switch that can be engaged when you put the truck into reverse or manually by a flick of the switch...
I have not installed this yet, just looking for opinions.

my problem is where do I get the power from, both up front and in the back?? do I need any relay for the front Nav unit that fits in the stereo?
Also how do I get the front bezel off around the stereo and climate control? are there clips near the 12V power sources?? that is what is giving me an issue, it seems stuck there.....

Re: Backup camera and integration to OEM NAV
the interface is called a Nav-tv GM205
http://www.navtv.com/products_usa_backup.php
the camera is just a Sony Camera CCD with Night vision, you can get them anywhere for about $100
it is pretty simple to do the install, just a pain in the butt to get into the OEM Stereo, you have to take it all apart, including the center console..let me know when and if you do it and I will give you all the details.
