Have a 6 inch lift , it wasn't put back on. Now I am looking to put one back on .

The factory skid likely will not fit with the 6" lift - they typically have their own skidplates with them. Is it the Fabtech lift?

I think you will have a hard time modding the OEM skid to fit a lift - the lifts for these trucks drop the differential down according to the amount of lift (yours would be down 6"). The factory skid is moulded aluminum and specifically made for the OEM suspension geometry.
IMHO you would be better off designing your own skid and perhaps having the H2 design stamped / cut into it (if you want the OEM look).

Also - the OEM skid is weaksauce. I have beat the living shit out of mine - huge dents in it everywhere... granted, it did its job to protect the vitals underneath it, but mine will be replaced by something custom if / when I lift the truck... or if the OEM skid gets too much worse than it already is.
