H1 interior rebuild

So I got myself into a little bit of a project. I have four kids and my wife always complains that when I want to bring my hummer somewhere we can never go as a family. I only have four seats. So I decided to buy a rear bench. The only problem is I can never go the easy way and just bolt the seat in. I need to make more leg room for the kids who will sit in the bench. This called for a complete interior job. New upholstery and console. About half way to upholstery right now but it's going we'll considering I've only spent about 20 hours on it so far.

Here are some pictures.

As you can see the rear heater core cover sitting by the black floor mat and would leave about 6 inches of space between the edge of the bench and the cover.

I moved the heater core forward and now have an additional 13.5 inches of clearance. Started with my shapes as mock up jigs and moved on to the final form. I programmed all the shaped to cut on the cnc so measuring to follow the profile of the floor was fun. The complete center console is being covered in fiberglass then vinyl. all of the interior was removed on Saturday and there was a lot of fiberglass repair to do to the plastic. It Is amazing what vinyl upholstery can hold together.

Great stuff. I modded my console as well so i can get the dog on the hump and use an inverter etc. I gained about 6 inches with mine.

I look forward to more pics. Here is one of mine

Looks great GreenMeanie.

So I have been a little overwhelmed with other items on my to do list that my Hummer had to take a backseat.

Fixing the house to sell, getting my RV ready for insurance to send an inspector and big work contracts. I finally had a little time last night to start the upholstery. Here is a few pictures. The interior will be two colors. All the lower section and door panels is in the color seen in the pictures.

Later

Hey Guys it has been a while since I last posted about my interior rebuild.
So I have had anything but free time to finish this project over the last few months as I have been travelling a lot for work.
Here are a few pictures of the progress. I have completed all the interior panels with the upholstery. I am just finishing my console and them start the installation. Once everything is installed I will still have 4 pieces to fit.
I hope to be complete in the next few weeks.
Thanks
Dan
