Control & Stream GoPro from Laptop

I've tested this on a desktop with WiFi Dongle and Windows 7 as well as a laptop running Windows 7 using the Hero3 Silver. The application used is also available for Mac and Windows 8.
To control camera:
Download and install Bluestacks - http://www.bluestacks.com (Android emulator)
Download and install GoPro apk (Android) file - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15557216/com.gopro.smarty.apk
Connect your computers WiFi to your GoPro camera
The .apx file should be automatically associated with bluestacks. From here you want to open bluestacks, click "My Apps" and launch the GoPro app.
The preview does NOT work, you can however change settings, power on/off and toggle the recording.
To watch preview:
Download & Install VLC Media Player - www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
Once opened, click the Media menu (top left) and select Open Network Stream (keyboard shortcut CTRL+N).
Enter http://10.5.5.9:8080/live/amba.m3u8 into the URL box.
Note - I've only had this work intermittently. Sometimes for a couple of minutes, other times for a few seconds. It is about 2 seconds behind the live footage, similar to the actual android app.
BONUS:
Open your web browser, enter 10.5.5.9:8080 as the URL and you can navigate through your files.
I am no expert at this by any means, but I can try and help anyone with any questions. If anyone figures out how to stream the preview on a more stable basis, please let me know!
