2007 Hummer H3 Engine Dead!

I'm the proud owner of a Yellow 2007 Hummer H3 with 140 kilometers. I have invested in chrome mags and all the trimmings you would expect from a proud Hummer owner. Yesterday, while driving home I lost power on the highway and pulled over immediately to find fluid leaking - looked like the radiator was leaking. After being towed to the ONLY Hummer dealer in Ottawa Ontario I'm told I need a new engine? How can a leak in a rad hose burn out my engine after 6 years? The used Hummer engine replacement has 123K with a one year warranty and costs $2,000.00 - to install it another $2,000.00 = $4,000.00 +! I'm pretty upset right now because I maintained my Hummer and thought I did a good job as a owner to ensure it was in good condition. I didn't drive it for miles with no coolant - I pulled over right away.
The dealer told me it could have been the timing chain but not sure. There was no compression in 3 valves so it's better to replace the engine versus trying to fix but not sure what is damaged.
I spent time on the internet and it appears the Hummer has problems with the radiator leaking so, please check your rad's for leaks. I also found Hummer H3 engines for $1,400.00 NOT $2,000.00 but what can I do when there is only one Hummer dealer in Ottawa. Yes, I'm getting royally screwed but I have no more warranty.
When I get my Hummer back I'm afraid I'll have to sell it because I cannot afford to pay for the engine replacement. I wish you all well with your Hummers and hope you never experience what I'm going through now.
