Tricky to put into park: having to let it roll slightly, play with it from reverse to park a few times before it'll go into park.


Cannot put her into 1st at all: bringing the shifter all the way down and 2nd is as far back as it'll go.


D is sometimes still Neutral as I sometimes have to just lightly shove it another notch down without depressing the thumb button and can also shove it up into neutral without the thumb button.


Any help here would be appreciated. I've had her since 2009, she's an 08 H3.

Sounds like the shifter linkage is toast. There's not much for adjustment in it the best you can do is swap out for a new linkage assembly.


Also all automatics are designed to drop into neutral without the button being depressed in case of a skid or out of control situation, same as you can drop from reverse to drive without the thumb button as well for quick escapes in emergency driving.
