Noob to the forum.
I registered a while ago but have let my profile sit idle. I have a red 1996 HMC4. Got it just over a year ago. I love this truck and love to take it off road when I have time.
I live in Maple Ridge, Vancouver Lower mainland area in BC. And am interested in finding other Hummer owners to go wheeling with. When I go off road I tend to take it easy because I dread what would happen if I get stuck like really stuck. All the people I know and meet up on the trails wouldn't have a chance of pulling out a H1. I've helped out every single person I've encountered that was in a pickle. I'm not saying they wouldn't help me but a Toyota or a Jeep vs an H1 would be a non-event.
I think this is a great place for Canadian hummer owners. There are a lot of other Hummer forums out there but non of them deal with Canadian issues. Shipping, import, duties and taxes are huge. The "FREE" UPS shipping from AM General is one of them. UPS's fees at the border are painful, even for a $40 item. Just finding parts and upgrades locally is next to impossible. And wouldn't it be nice to see a product before you buy it.
