I'm a dissenter. The services they provide are excellent - no doubt. You're really placing a bet that you'll have an issue that requires their service. Fair.
Did you know that:
1) new car roadside assistance programs get priority service? You wait.
2) they service all customers, not just members and that members do not get priority service over call ins?
3) they lobby for more radar?
4) they lobby for higher insurance rates?
5) they lobby for red light cameras, speed on green and photo radar?
6) they lobby for increasing insurance premiums based on registered owner tickets?
7) they lobby for lower coverage including fixed rates for soft tissue injuries?
Since the 90's I've been towed twice. Total cost, <$700. It's been cheaper for me to not have the service. I feel good knowing that I didn't support on organization that, in my opinion, is using my money to try and rip me off.
Next time a news story involving insurance, traffic or speeding tickets is on the news - notice who represents 'increases'.
Anyway, their product is decent, their price not bad. It's an easy buy, but most buyers don't know exactly what they're buying.

Well, unfortunately we live in world which is fuelled by self serving motives and priorities which are not in the interest of the common good......
If we refuse to interact with them or only seek out companies with true moral fibre..... It would be an awful lonely world!
My thoughts..... But you are right...
My membership is only for that reason as the one time I called a tow truck without the coverage.... Cost be $980.00 and the worst part I didn't need him in the end... I don't use any of their other services as honestly... Their prices are too high....
Crowfoot plates is much better for registry services, expedia is much less for travel.....
My 2 cents...
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE!
Greg - still wanna hear more stories around the camp fire so we gotta plan a late run in the spring! :-)

I do whatever I can to support companies I support, and pull support from those which I dislike. I've never been a fan of these insurance based towing services, I'd rather pool our cash and buy a trailer or something instead. Fight the man!! haha
BTW Greg, I saw Jay talking about your track record on Beyond today, haha

Jay Zelazo? He went faster - but in a nowhere near production car. Take a Vette and bolt over $100k to it. He did well, but not apples to apples.

In bad weather Kevin with CAA coverage got stuck in Barrie in a snow bank in his then Jimmy. To avoid a wreck he put the truck into a snow bank. While awaiting CAA police arrived and had truck pulled back onto ramp cost $70.00 and CAA didn't pay it as the reciept was not recognized by them.
