Been looking at one of those for my H3. Cheaper than a locker and no electrical or pneumatic parts to worry about failing.

I wouldn't want to trust a posi-trac/limited slip in these rigs. They don't grab until you're already spinning, that's just asking for trouble! Not to mention the nightmare it would havoc on traction control!

I had a 2way limited slip in my old Nissan Skyline and it would constantly grab, every corner it was dragging tires around, I went through rear tires like oil changes.

I disagree.

The limited slip will actually help the traction control a lot and reduce needless Wheel spin. It will be virtually transparent on the street unless you are on ice...then not so good.

It will not wear the tires out on the street.

A Detroit Locker is probably the worse you can get for street use but the best you could have for Offroad.

Now if you wanted the best overall, get a Detroit Tru Trac! Due to it's design it is perfect for use on the street and will work exceptionally well offroad especially with the traction control. As well, the traction control and your brakes will thank you for it!

I have run a Tru Trac in the back of my Suburban for almost 5 years and 120000kms, it has never worn out my tires or caused me to slide and has always helped to find grip if grip was to be found!

I think the Yukon locker would be a great improvement but the Tru Trac would be better still!

Open diffs SUCK!!! Front or Rear!
