H2 1" Body Lift

Post by citiboy »

Just recently installed a 1" bodylift to minimize the rubbing caused by the 38" tires.

This is what i used for 1" bodylift (12 of each).

Don't forget to torque all the body mount bolts to 63 lb.ft.

<a href="http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/de ... 0122037</a>
<a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel ... c389e5a</a>
<a href="http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/p ... erview/</a>

It's a straight forward install.
Remove all the body mount bolts on one side of the truck.
I used 4x4 block of wood on top of the floor jack to lift the body.
Once there's enough space, just insert the spacers and the longer bolts and lightly tighten it.
Move to the other side and do the same thing.
Tighten and torque all the bolts.

My 2 is an '08 so i don't have to modify anything on the electric fans. '03-'07 have a clutch fan so the fan shroud have to be modified.

Check all the lines and electrical harness for any rubbing issues. I have to slightly bend the tranny cooler lines, too close to the a/c compressor. Also the engine oil cooler lines, too close to the power steering pulley.

I didn't touch any of the fuel filler hose as it has enough slack for this job.

That's about it!

Thank you for the info!

Can you check the summit link? I get access denied when I try to follow it.

With the 38's and the lift do you have any rubbing issues now? My 38" XMLs rub the rear of the front fender wells when turning and it drives me crazy.

Could you take a measurement from the top of your onstar antenna to ground? I'm curious about how tall the truck is now - I still need to fit into the parkade at work!

I have no problem when i click on the summit link. <a href="http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/p ... erview/</a>

I still have rubbing issues on the front frame at full turn. I trimmed the back of the front wheel well liners and rolled the body edges.
When i go off-roading all the tires lightly rubs at the top wheel well liners at full compression.

I will be installing 1" hub centric wheel spacers soon.

I think your XML tires will be fine with the 12.50. I have the 13.50.

Measurements from the Onstar antenna to the ground is 84.5"

Hope this helps!

HA! Summit was blocking the IP of my VPN... buggers.

84.5" is just over 7' - the parkade is 6'9" - it'll be tight.

What do you mean 12.50 vs 13.50? I don't follow.

I have the 6" fabtech lift, 1.5" wheel spacers and I still rub when full cranked....I do run pretty wide tires though 38x15.5x20. I would love to do that same to my rig but I'd have to modify my whole front bumper/brush guard set up and to be honest my truck is almost to tall now for trails lol ...and your rig looks pretty sharp btw.
Lifted , locked and ready to rock!
