Planning a weekend off roading next year in Artbag Ontario. Approx 45 km due north of Parry Sound up in absolutely NOWHERE.

45.640684, -80.081095 Right onto hwy124, then take the Bunny trail to Ardbeg. Crown land and has lots of trails. Let me know if anyone is interested in this trip. No hotels, no fast food, outdoors only....can always drive back to Parry Sound for suppies. Some cabins, just not sure how to rent them yet.

May is busy with off roading in Quebec, and a coffee meet. So lets try mid/late June.

Let me know the interest level

Approx drive times

7 hrs from Lachine Qc.
3 hrs from Toronto

Have a group of Hummers out of the US that want to come up as well. Late June works for me. Keep me in the loop and I will post up on CHO forums as well to let them know.

Cheers,

Jim

Depending on my work schedule, if I am free I am in. I'll even try to take it off if we can get a set date.

I would be in for this trip. Camping is the way to go but these places are fairly close (1/2 hr or less) to the trails. Parry Sound is about 45 mins from the trails.

Never stayed at either so can't confidently recommend but they look good and are on Whitestone Lake. There are approximately 12 primitive campsites on Black Lake (Ardbeg) which includes a group area. End of June will be busy so might be an idea to have someone go on the Thursday to hold sites. If not, additional camping is usually on the beach or in the large lot close to Black Lake. There are a few sites on nearby Round Lake as well. Any earlier than the late June time and bugs can be crazy.

You can get almost all supplies at the Loggers Station ( http://www.loggersstationhouse.com ). The owners are great and are helpful if you are in need of anything. They are geared for the snowmobile/offroad crowd. Good food at their restaurant as well. They are closest to the trail. Roy: they allow tow rigs and trailers to park there for min fee. They keep an eye on things and ensure no bs goes on.

Some pics below of campsite and trails from Aug14 trip. Sounds like a great ride and looking forward to next summer already.

Will have 5-6 guys coming up from the US. We are planning on going up on a Thursday and wheeling Friday & Saturday. They would like to get a cabin, guess camping isn't their thing. Will forward the links above to them.

Cheers,
Jim

What about the July 4th long weekend for the USA boys? Mind you, they may want to be at home for this day.
Should be an okay weekend for this outing. Let me know if this date is good or give me an alternative date.
Kev, can you work with this date?
