I am impressed at what Our Canadian Forces LAV can do! I am doubly impressed since I have the exact tires from an LAV on my H2!!

Enjoy!

The coyote, cougars and grizzly even the bison are incredible vehicles,
All Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) do incredible thing on land and water as most are amphibious.
Our most extreme trail are beginners trail for them.  A ride in the park as we could say, even with missing wheels.
Most are running Michelin XLM.

I am a retired Canadian Army Vehtech. 411. IE: Heavy duty Mechanic.

These aren't technically 'amphibious' as comment on above as we're not aloud to ford in the Canadian Army anymore.

There were was a kit on the Grizzly many years ago that enabled two props on the rear of the armoured vehicle to spin.

But after fording was outlawed those vehicles have been decom'd.

The LAVs have been around for a very long time. The LAV3 is a awesome product. Mainly a GM product. A power pack in them can be swapped in about 15 min.

They run on full torsion.

During the Recent Afgan issues after 9/11 the states were bitching that we had this beautiful piece of kit. They were actually constantly bumming rides in them rather then taking their under powered and very dangerous (over there) Humvees.

So after bitching long enough someone with brass realized that the troops were right and the states ended up getting their version of the LAV3 the 'Striker'.

They always need to have more fire power. (shakes head).

Anyways that is my two cents for a new guy who just found this community.

Cheers guys.
Sorry for resurrecting a old post. Figured I had a unique view point from the inside for you.
